Job summary

SHI International Corp. is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to lead data engineering initiatives, design ETL workflows, and centralize data for internal users, customers, and partners.

You will research data sources, outline integration designs, and help establish a new data engineering practice within the Product organization. The role emphasizes building scalable data pipelines, collaborating with stakeholders, and leading technical excellence while guiding the team toward efficient data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 10 years' experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platforms.
• Experience building highly available and testable ETL systems that support critical business operations.
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Expert knowledge of SQL scripting.
• Demonstrates excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills.
• Ability to present ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong ability to work independently or in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Strong problem prevention, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive data strategy including data model designs and warehousing standards.
• Collaborate with teams through code and design reviews to ensure quality integration.
• Maintain high standards by shipping high-quality solutions.
• Coordinate with developers, stakeholders, and customers for data systems.
• Support a data engineering environment focused on developer experience and testing.
• Recommend improvements to ETL processes and data workflows.
• Participate in end-to-end data architecture design and testing.
• Create and maintain technical docs and architecture diagrams.
• Review best practices around data architecture with the team.
