Job summary

Ceresti Health, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will design ingestion, validation, and curation layers between partners and products. You will build pipelines, ensure data quality, and maintain a secure analytics layer that supports data science, BI, and AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with backend, ML, and clinical teams in an Agile environment, ensuring HIPAA-compliant data governance while delivering scalable data systems that power dementia care outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years shipping production data systems end-to-end.
• Strong PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with data ingestion (SFTP, object storage drops) and API-based ingestion.
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred) and managed Postgres.
• Experience building data warehouses or data lakes and modern data modeling.
• Proficiency with dbt and data quality frameworks; observability focus.
• Exposure to CI/CD for data systems and Agile/Scrum teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and own end-to-end data architecture with landing zone, validated ingestion, and curated analytics layer.
• Build ingestion pipelines for partner data and API integrations with schema validation and data lineage.
• Operate the curated layer for analytics and ML without impacting production.
• Integrate minimal toolset: object storage, orchestrator, transformations, validation library.
• Enforce HIPAA-compliant data governance with encryption, access controls, and auditing.
• Collaborate with backend, ML, product, and clinical stakeholders on data contracts.
• Build feature data for ML models and manage embeddings and feature tables.
• Instrument the data platform for observability and data quality metrics.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and mentor engineers on SQL and schema design.
