Job summary

Regard is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to own data services powering its platform. You will design, deploy, and productionize data pipelines, tune Spark workloads, and enforce data quality across healthcare data ecosystems.

You will collaborate with product and ML teams to enable analytics, research, and insights, while maintaining cost-efficient, transparent systems. This role supports hybrid work in the US, with on-site expectations during onboarding and monthly team gatherings, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
• 3+ years of experience using PySpark to build data pipelines.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS tooling (S3, EMR, Athena).
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience across the full data stack, esp. data modeling and pipelines.
• Practical experience with LLM-assisted development and on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Collect, model, and consolidate data into the data platform to support analytics, ML development, and research initiatives.
• Design, build, and evolve data models and pipelines that reliably transform and deliver data to downstream consumers.
• Own data quality with engineering teams, ensuring datasets are trustworthy and production-ready.
• Partner with product to deliver analytics and actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Own reliability and day-to-day operation of the data platform and pipelines through proactive monitoring and incident management.
