Job summary

Protera Health is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to build and scale the data platform powering clinical operations, payer reporting, and analytics. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the President.

You will own end-to-end data pipelines and drive AI/ML initiatives with cross-functional teams. The role requires deep healthcare data expertise, production Python/SQL, and strong GCP/Looker Studio skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a hybrid backend/data role.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with healthcare claims data.
• Proficiency in production-grade Python and SQL.
• Strong knowledge of BigQuery and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Build and orchestrate data pipelines and ingestion via Mage.
• Design analytical models in BigQuery and maintain SQL assets.
• Own GCP infrastructure via Terraform and ensure security.
• Implement data quality checks and observability.
• Develop internal BI surfaces (Looker Studio, Grafana, Metabase).
• Collaborate with clinical, product, finance teams on data products.
