Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own product delivery and forward planning for Cloud Data Solutions’ data products. You will translate business needs into a prioritized roadmap, while contributing hands-on to data engineering, data modeling, and data integration across Trading, Assets, Operations, and related areas.

You will coordinate with the Data Office and governance teams, implement robust data pipelines, and drive data quality and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in energy trading, asset management, or energy market operations.
• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines on a major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools, workflow orchestration, data transformation frameworks, APIs, and system integration.
• Understanding of data modeling, data quality practices, data lineage concepts, metadata, and documentation.
• Experience gathering requirements, refining user stories, managing a delivery backlog, and prioritizing a roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the product backlog and roadmap for data products.
• Translate business needs into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Build, test, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery across batch and streaming use cases.
• Develop and maintain data models, metadata, and documentation to support analytics and downstream apps.
• Implement data quality checks, error handling, monitoring, and performance tuning for data pipelines.
