Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. in Houston seeks a Sr Data Engineer ITDE1I to own product delivery for Cloud Data Solutions.

You will translate business needs into a roadmap and contribute hands-on data engineering, modeling, and integration to ensure reliable, high-quality cloud data solutions for Trading, Assets, and Operations. The role collaborates with business stakeholders and the Data Office, maintains a backlog, and guides governance, cataloging, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in energy trading/asset management or energy market operations.
• 5+ years building cloud-based data pipelines on major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, workflow orchestration, APIs, and external system integration.
• Understanding of data modeling, data quality, data lineage, metadata, and documentation.
• Experience gathering requirements, refining user stories, managing backlog, and roadmap planning.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines for batch and streaming use cases.
• Develop and maintain data models, metadata, and documentation.
• Implement data quality checks, error handling, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Assist in training business users and team members on data products and development processes.
