Job summary

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer to design and build scalable data solutions across its family of apps, helping optimize growth, strategy, and user experiences for billions of users and businesses. You will collaborate with software engineers, data science, and product management to create robust data models, logging systems, and visualizations while ensuring data security and quality.

You will guide teams in selecting data architectures, develop logging frameworks, and own production processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience with data-centric roles (data engineer/analyst/scientist).
• 7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (Python, C++, C#, Scala or others).

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own data architecture for large-scale projects.
• Create frameworks to improve logging data and triage issues with data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and data scientists to understand data needs and visualize insights.
• Define and manage SLAs for data sets.
• Implement security model based on privacy requirements and governance processes.
• Design, build, and launch data models and visualizations across products.
• Solve data integration problems using ETL patterns and varied data sources.
• Own production processes and optimize code with advanced algorithms.
• Optimize pipelines and dashboards to ease development of data artifacts.
• Influence cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities.
• Mentor team members with actionable feedback.
