Job summary

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer in Denver to design scalable data solutions and data models for billions of users and businesses across its apps.

You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to identify data needs, ensure quality, and implement robust logging and governance.

You will own production data processes, optimize pipelines, mentor teammates, and drive impact across multiple products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of data-focused experience (data engineer, data analyst, data scientist, etc.)
• 7+ years of SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (Python, C++, C#, Scala, or similar)

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs
• Create frameworks that improve the efficacy of logging data and triage issues with data infrastructure
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and represent key insights visually
• Define and manage SLAs for all data sets in allocated areas
• Determine and implement security models based on privacy requirements and governance processes
• Design, build, and launch data models and visualizations supporting multiple use cases across products/domains
• Solve data integration problems using ETL patterns across structured/unstructured sources
• Own production processes and optimize code with advanced algorithms
• Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to ease data artifact development
• Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities
• Mentor team members
