Job summary

Meta’s Data Engineer role sits within the PAR team, shaping data architectures for large-scale projects and delivering scalable data solutions across Meta’s apps. You’ll collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to translate data needs into actionable insights and visualizations that guide product decisions at massive scale.

You will own governance, data security, and the quality of data assets while driving efficiency and reliability in data pipelines and ETL processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience working with data in roles such as data engineer, data analyst, or data scientist.
• 7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (Python, C++, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, evaluating design and cost-benefit tradeoffs.
• Create and contribute to frameworks that improve data-logging efficacy and triage issues with data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and present insights visually.
• Define and manage SLAs for all data sets in owned areas.
• Design and launch sophisticated data models and visualizations that support multiple use cases across products.
• Solve complex data integration problems using ETL patterns and diverse data sources.
• Assist in owning production processes, optimizing code with advanced algorithms.
• Optimize pipelines, dashboards, and systems to ease development of data artifacts.
• Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact.
• Mentor team members with actionable feedback.
