Job summary

Meta’s PAR team seeks a Data Engineer to design and build scalable data artifacts supporting billions of users and hundreds of millions of businesses. You will own client-side logging and measurement for consumer mobile apps on iOS and Android, shaping instrumentation and data pipelines that drive engagement and product quality decisions.

You will collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to define logging standards, validate instrumentation, and scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data roles (data analyst/scientist/engineer).
• 7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#).
• Experience designing batch data pipelines and using a distributed SQL query engine.
• Hands-on experience implementing client-side logging/instrumentation in mobile apps (iOS/Android).
• Experience defining product measurement for consumer-facing products (engagement, retention, funnel, latency).
• Master's or PhD in STEM.
• AI tools integration and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Own data architecture for large-scale projects and evaluate design/operational tradeoffs.
• Improve logging frameworks, triage issues, and resolve data issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and data scientists to visualize insights.
• Define and manage SLAs for data sets in ownership areas.
• Determine and implement security model based on privacy requirements.
• Design, build, and launch data models and visualizations for multiple use cases.
• Solve data integration problems using ETL patterns and workflows.
• Optimize pipelines, dashboards, and systems for easier data artifact development.
• Design, implement, debug client-side instrumentation in production iOS/Android apps.
• Establish client logging standards and build automated validation/testing.
• Build tooling to scale instrumentation across teams and platforms.
• Partner with mobile engineering to create foundational hooks/frameworks for testable instrumentation.
• Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities.
• Mentor teammates with actionable feedback.
