Job summary

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer to shape data across our product and business platforms. You will design scalable data models, logging frameworks, and visualizations to support billions of users and millions of businesses globally.

You will collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to translate data needs into actionable insights, maintain data security, and drive governance practices while mentoring teammates and advancing analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience working with data in roles such as data analyst, data scientist, or data engineer.
• 7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (Python, C++, C#, Scala or similar).

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, evaluating design and operation cost-benefit tradeoffs.
• Create and contribute to frameworks that improve the efficacy of logging data and triage issues with data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and visualize key insights.
• Define and manage SLAs for all data sets in allocated ownership areas.
• Implement security models based on privacy requirements and evolve governance processes.
• Design, build, and launch collections of data models and visualizations for multiple use cases.
• Solve complex data integration problems using ETL patterns and diverse data sources.
• Assist in owning existing production data processes and optimize code with advanced algorithms.
• Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to facilitate data artifact development.
• Influence cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities and drive impact.
• Mentor team members with actionable feedback.
