Job summary

Meta is seeking a technical leader for the Data Engineering team to shape the data foundation and analytics strategy across platforms. You will work with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to design scalable data architectures, govern data marts, and enable secure analytics at scale.

This role requires extensive experience in data warehousing, ETL design, SQL, and OO programming, with a focus on governance, privacy, and cross‑functional collaboration to drive measurable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years experience in data warehouse space.
• 10+ years experience in custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance.
• 10+ years experience with object-oriented programming languages.
• 10+ years experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling.
• 10+ years experience in authoring SQL statements.
• Experience analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies.
• Experience managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients.

Responsibilities

• Proactively drive the vision for data foundation and analytics across platforms.
• Own the data architecture for large-scale projects with cost‑benefit tradeoffs.
• Create frameworks to improve data logging efficacy with operations teams.
• Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, PMs and Engineers.
• Define and manage SLAs for data sets in ownership areas.
• Implement security model based on privacy requirements and governance processes.
• Design, build, and launch sophisticated data models and visualizations.
• Address data quality issues and optimize data pipelines and dashboards.
