Job summary

McKinsey & Company’s Life Sciences AI team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and scale data pipelines and AI assets. You will work with global teams to deploy production-ready analytics and agentic solutions across pharma and medtech commercial workflows.

You will mentor colleagues, lead technical workstreams, and contribute to R&D initiatives, all while collaborating in an Agile environment within North America offices.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, business analytics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or adjacent technical roles.
• Proficiency in Python for production-grade pipelines, with strong skills in SQL and PySpark.
• Experience building end-to-end data pipelines for Agentic AI, Generative AI, ML, or BI.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and deploy differentiated advanced analytics and agentic solutions for Life Sciences.
• Transform pilots into production-ready systems across commercial workflows.
• Design and manage scalable data pipelines and secure analytics platforms; mentor team members.
• Lead technical workstreams and collaborate with Agile teams of data scientists and ML engineers.
• Contribute to R&D projects and internal asset development in a cross-functional environment.
