Job summary

McKinsey & Company’s Life Sciences AI team, integrated with QuantumBlack, is hiring a senior software engineer to build AI that transforms Pharma and MedTech. You will design and deploy advanced analytics and agentic solutions across Life Sciences, in North American offices.

You’ll collaborate with data scientists and engineers, own scalable data pipelines, mentor colleagues, and contribute to R&D. The role offers growth, flexibility in level, and a path to asset-based consulting impact.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science, business analytics, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or adjacent technical roles.
Proficiency in Python for production-grade pipelines, with strong SQL and PySpark.
Experience building end-to-end data pipelines and platforms for Agentic AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, or Business Intelligence.
Familiarity with Temporal, CI/CD for data workflows, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Responsibilities

Design, deliver, and deploy differentiated analytics solving high-value Life Sciences use cases.
Transform pilots into production-ready systems for end-to-end workflows.
Lead technical workstreams and mentor junior colleagues in Agile teams.
Build scalable, secure data pipelines and analytics platforms.
