Job summary

BRG is expanding a Financial Services Operations & Technology practice and seeks a Managing/Senior Managing Consultant level data engineering leader in the US. You will turn operational data into AI-ready digital assets, guiding engineers and collaborating with domain experts and risk practitioners to deliver production-grade data foundations.

You will work with AI Co-lab and vendor partners, framing data requirements, evaluating options, and building reusable data assets and implementation

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of data engineering delivery experience in a consulting or production setting.
• Hands-on delivery of production data pipelines and data products.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with experience across APIs, databases, files, and documents.
• Experience with warehouse or lakehouse models and schema design decisions like storage and orchestration.
• Knowledge of data quality, lineage, access controls, and sensitive-data handling in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering workstreams from discovery through production handover with stakeholders.
• Design and build batch and streaming pipelines in Python and SQL consuming data from varied sources.
• Develop ingestion for structured records and unstructured documents including metadata and traceability.
• Design warehouse and lakehouse models to support reporting, analytics and AI use cases.
• Implement data quality checks, lineage, access controls, and PII handling with security teams.
• Prepare retrieval-ready data via document parsing, chunking, metadata enrichment, and indexing.
• Collaborate with AI Co-lab and vendor partners to frame data requirements and evaluate options.
• Build automated tests, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and recovery procedures.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with AI, application, change, and risk teams.
