Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and own the data platform that underpins Lyric’s healthcare decision intelligence solutions. You will work with a Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and Python stack to ingest, transform, validate, and serve data across a multi-tenant environment.

You will implement the canonical data model in production, build automated validation and observability, and partner with analytics and reporting teams to deliver governed data outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, building and owning production data pipelines.
• Strong Snowflake experience, including streams and tasks, warehouse sizing and performance tuning, SQL optimization, and RBAC knowledge.
• Production experience with dbt and Airflow, including structuring models and DAGs for maintainability.
• Strong programming in Python and deep SQL proficiency.
• Solid data modeling skills for multi-consumer schemas and shared vs consumer-specific extensions.
• Experience building testing and data quality validation into pipelines.
• Disciplined engineering practices: version control, code review, CI/CD, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own data pipelines using Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Implement canonical data model in production within the established architecture.
• Build automated data quality checks and observability into pipelines.
• Instrument pipelines for freshness, lineage, and failure alerts.
• Enable self-service data delivery to consuming teams with governed outputs.
• Collaborate with invoicing, analytics, and reporting teams to translate needs into data.
• Migrate and consolidate data workloads onto the unified framework without disruption.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident reviews to drive lasting fixes.
• Maintain high engineering standards: version control, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical level of the team.
