Job summary

FIS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable data solutions across cloud and legacy platforms in Atlanta. The role emphasizes SQL, DBT, Snowflake, Python, Spark, and integrating AWS data services, IBM DataStage, and mainframe data including COBOL copybooks.

The ideal candidate will design scalable pipelines, optimize workloads, and collaborate with product and operations teams to deliver dependable data solutions with robust observability and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

Significant professional software or data engineering experience (5+ years).
Strong SQL skills with data modeling and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with DBT and Snowflake.
Proficiency in Python and Spark for data-processing solutions.
Experience with AWS data services and cloud deployment.
Knowledge of IBM DataStage and enterprise data integration patterns.
Familiarity with mainframe data formats and COBOL copybooks.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation workflows.
Build and optimize DBT models and Snowflake workloads with focus on performance and data quality.
Develop data-processing applications using Python and Apache Spark.
Integrate data from cloud, relational, and mainframe systems, including COBOL copybooks.
Support and modernize IBM DataStage workflows while enabling cloud migration.
