Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a senior Data Engineer to join the Low Carbon Solutions IT team. You will design, build, and scale batch and streaming data pipelines and collaborate across IT and business units to deliver reliable data products.

You will mentor junior engineers, implement robust data models, and apply modern data engineering practices with cloud platforms to support enterprise analytics and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline; equivalent practical experience considered.
• 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform development.
• Strong Python and SQL skills for data processing and pipelines.
• Experience building scalable batch and streaming data pipelines and data models.
• Cloud data platforms and distributed processing frameworks knowledge.
• CI/CD for data workflows and data quality/monitoring practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and gather complex business requirements and data needs.
• Design, build, and maintain robust batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Develop and refine logical/physical data models and data flow diagrams.
• Integrate APIs and diverse data sources for reliable data movement.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to deliver data products.
• Ensure data governance, security, and efficient data access.
• Mentor junior Data Engineers and align with ExxonMobil standards.
