Job summary

CapTech is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain modern data pipelines across customer cloud environments.

You will collaborate with product owners and subject-matter experts to translate requirements into scalable data solutions and provide technical mentorship to fellow engineers. The role emphasizes staying current with cloud technologies and delivering high-quality, durable data architectures.

Qualifications

Experience building/operating distributed data systems for large datasets.
5+ years delivering data engineering solutions on cloud platforms.
5+ years with at least one cloud-based solution (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Advanced proficiency with at least one ETL/Data Orchestration tool (Azure Data Factory/SSIS/Informatica/Matillion).
Experience with cloud data warehousing/lake solutions (Snowflake/Redshift/Databricks).
5+ years SQL/NoSQL experience (PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQL Server/Oracle/etc.).
SQL/database design and data structures (star/snowflake schemas).
5+ years programming (Python/Java/R/C/C#/Shell).
Familiarity with DevOps tools (git/Jenkins/CI/CD/Jira).
Understanding of big data, open source, and data streaming concepts.

Responsibilities

Be trusted advisor to customers on data engineering best practices and technologies.
Design, implement, and maintain modern data pipelines using cloud technologies.
Collaborate with product owners and SMEs to analyze requirements and deliver engineered solutions.
Provide technical leadership and ensure solutions align with customer needs.
Stay current with cloud technologies and clearly communicate results to stakeholders.
