Job summary

West Monroe is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern cloud data platforms enabling analytics, AI, and BI. You will mentor consultants, lead solution design, and deliver high-quality data engineering outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities include building lakehouse architectures, scalable data pipelines, and ELT/ETL processes across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with emphasis on Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric. Hybrid work 2x/week in office; travel 30–50%.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise data engineering solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and/or Microsoft Fabric in enterprise environments.
• Experience building cloud-native data pipelines using Spark, SQL, Python, and modern orchestration tools.
• Experience with lakehouse architecture, cloud data warehousing, data modeling, and ELT/ETL development.
• Experience integrating enterprise data platforms with analytics, BI, ML, or generative AI solutions.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Storage, Synapse, Fabric, or comparable tech.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-native data platforms on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP with Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric.
• Understanding of data governance, security, metadata management, and data quality best practices.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, IaC, and agile delivery.
• Strong analytic, problem-solving, and communication skills across teams.
• Experience integrating AI tools into workflows to boost productivity and insights.
• Willingness to travel 30-50%.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize cloud-native data solutions using Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric, and related technologies.
• Architect and deliver cloud data solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP with Databricks, Snowflake, and Fabric for analytics and BI.
• Build scalable batch and streaming data pipelines for analytics and AI applications.
• Design modern lakehouse and data warehouse architectures to improve data accessibility and governance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Develop robust ELT/ETL processes, data models, and orchestration workflows.
• Enable AI and analytics by creating scalable data foundations for ML and generative AI.
• Apply data governance, security, and DevOps best practices.
• Mentor junior consultants and ensure high-quality deliverables across engagements.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis and improve client outcomes.
