Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead design and hands-on engineering of Big Data and cloud environments that enable advanced analytics and data science for client projects. You will architect and implement scalable data pipelines across multi-cloud architectures, working closely with project teams both on-site and remotely.

The role requires 8+ years of technical experience, expertise in Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake, Python, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional technical experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on Data Architecture and Data Modelling.
• 4+ years of experience building highly scalable data solutions using Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake.
• 4+ years of programming languages such as Python.
• 2+ years of experience working in cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure).
• Strong client-facing communication and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operationalize, secure, and monitor data processing systems.
• Create robust pipelines to ingest and process structured and unstructured data from various sources into analytical platforms using batch and streaming methods.
• Implement custom applications using cloud-native tools like Kinesis and Lambda as required for streaming use cases.
• Develop and maintain data structures including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Maintain ELT processes for loading data lakes (Snowflake, Cloud Storage, Hadoop).
• Expose data through APIs for Enterprise Applications.
• Select appropriate tools to deliver testable, maintainable, modern data solutions.
• Collaborate with scrum team members to estimate and deliver work in sprints.
• Investigate data questions, identify root causes, and liaise with business and technical stakeholders.
