Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and deploy scalable analytics and data models on cloud platforms for a major retail client. You will work with PMs, leads, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into production-ready solutions.

The role emphasizes building robust pipelines, testing, and monitoring while collaborating across delivery teams. Remote work is available, with some interviews possibly in-person at Cognizant offices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or related software roles.
• Strong experience with PySpark, Scala, SQL and Python.
• Experience building Airflow pipelines and cloud analytics solutions.
• Hands-on experience with reporting/visualization tools like Power BI or Looker Studio.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform; Google Cloud preferred; BigQuery a plus.
• Knowledge of designing large-scale, high-volume data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of analytics solutions and data models on cloud platforms.
• Analyse requirements and lead technical discussions with stakeholders.
• Build high-quality data pipelines with strong engineering practices and tests.
• Ensure features are tested, released and deployed to production.
• Implement monitoring aligned to client and operation best practices.
• Document designs and specifications; guide developers on implementation.
