Job summary

Cognizant is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and deploy scalable analytics solutions on cloud platforms for a major retail client. You will work with program managers, stakeholders, leads, and developers to translate business requirements into production-ready data models and pipelines.

Requirements include 7+ years in data/analytics engineering, expertise in PySpark, Scala, SQL, Python, Airflow, and experience with Power BI or Looker Studio.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or related software engineering roles.
• Strong experience with PySpark, Scala, Advanced SQL and Python.
• Experience building and managing Airflow pipelines and cloud-based analytics solutions.
• Hands-on experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Looker Studio.
• Experience working with at least one cloud platform; Google Cloud Platform experience is preferred.
• Strong SQL experience, with BigQuery experience considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of analytics solutions and data models on cloud platforms (Azure or Google Cloud Platform).
• Analyse business requirements and lead discussions with stakeholders.
• Build high-quality data pipelines following engineering practices and unit testing.
• Ensure features are tested, released and deployed to production.
• Implement monitoring aligned to client recommendations and operational best practices.
• Document designs and specifications while guiding developers.
