Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Developer/Tech Lead to design, build and implement scalable analytics solutions and cloud-based applications for a leading retail client. You will collaborate across engineering teams and client stakeholders to translate requirements into production-ready technology solutions.

Remote work with potential in-person interviews as needed. This role requires strong Java, Spring, Kafka and cloud experience, and offers a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in Advanced Java application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot and Spring JPA.
• Experience designing and developing applications on cloud platforms; Microsoft Azure experience is preferred.
• Strong experience with Kafka for event-driven or high-volume application environments.
• Strong SQL experience, including working with relational databases and data-driven applications.
• Experience designing or supporting large-scale, high-volume applications.
• Ability to partner with technical and business stakeholders, communicate solution options and provide technical leadership across delivery activities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement analytics solutions and application models on Azure or GCP.
• Analyse requirements and lead technical conversations with stakeholders.
• Build high-quality features with unit testing and code coverage.
• Ensure features are tested, released and deployed to production.
• Implement monitoring to support reliability and readiness.
• Document designs and guide developers on specifications.
