Job summary

BECU is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver enterprise-grade, cloud-native data pipelines supporting analytics, governance, and AI-ready capabilities.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to implement scalable solutions across Azure-based data platforms, while mentoring teammates and upholding security standards. This role offers remote-friendly options and a pathway to influence enterprise data strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of functional experience in data engineering.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, Java).
• Experience with CI/CD, data governance, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex, cloud-native data solutions and integration services.
• Build scalable data pipelines for batch, near real-time, and API-based workloads.
• Lead data governance initiatives including metadata management and data quality.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and leadership on roadmaps and modernization.
• Mentor and guide data engineering teams through design reviews and development activities.
• Ensure security and compliance within data pipelines and platforms.
