Job summary

CGS is seeking a Data Engineer to support a growing Data Analytics and BI platform for federal clients. You will join the Business Intelligence department as a mid-level, full-time role and work on data pipelines, ETL, and API-driven data delivery.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years IT experience, is a US citizen, and can obtain a Public Trust clearance. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and tools like Tableau/PowerBI is valued, with a strong focus on Agile practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT experience with large data sets and models.
• Experience building data pipelines from diverse sources.
• Proficiency in ETL, validation, and data manipulation (Python, R, SQL, SAS).
• Strong knowledge of big data storage tools and technologies.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop data pipelines to store, manage, and provision data to consumers.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum team and follow best practices.
• Write code to ensure performance and reliability of data extraction and processing.
• Support continuous automation for data ingest.
• Adhere to lean-agile engineering principles and API-first design.
• Document complex requirements and work with cross-functional teams.
