Job summary

CGS is seeking a passionate and driven Data Engineer to support a rapidly growing Data Analytics and BI platform for federal customers. The role emphasizes turning data into actionable insights through robust data pipelines and collaborative Agile practices.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of IT experience, strong ETL skills, and proficiency in Python, SQL, and visualization tools, working within a cross-functional team to deliver scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT experience in design, management, and solutioning of large, complex data sets and models.
• Experience building data pipelines from diverse sources (structured and unstructured).
• Proficiency in ETL development, testing, and validation.
• Proficient in Python, R, SQL, and SAS.
• Strong knowledge of big data tools and storage technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Git.
• Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete development across data pipelines to store, manage, and provision data to consumers.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum team and follow best practices.
• Write code to ensure performance and reliability of data extraction and processing.
• Support continuous automation for data ingest.
• Advocate lean‑agile engineering principles including API‑first design, CI/CD, automated testing.
• Work with PMs and engineers to implement complex requirements.
• Foster customer service excellence, collaboration, and teamwork.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including UX researchers, product managers, and engineers.
