Job summary

CGS is seeking a passionate Data Engineer to support a rapidly growing Data Analytics and BI platform for federal customers. This full-time, mid-level role focuses on building data pipelines and delivering insights in a collaborative Agile environment.

Ideal candidates will have US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust, with 7+ years in IT, strong ETL, Python/R/SQL/SAS skills, and experience with PostgreSQL, Tableau or PowerBI. DHS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years IT experience with design, management, and modeling of large data sets.
• Experience building data pipelines from diverse sources (structured and unstructured).
• ETL development and validation experience.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, SAS for data manipulation.
• Strong big data storage tools knowledge and CI/CD understanding.
• Relational databases like PostgreSQL; version control with Git.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end data pipelines to store, manage, and provision data to consumers.
• Actively participate in an Agile/Scrum team and follow best practices.
• Write code to improve performance and reliability of data extraction and processing.
• Automate data ingest and support continuous improvement.
• Align with lean-agile engineering, API-first design, CI/CD, testing, and version control.
• Collaborate with program management and engineers to document complex requirements.
• Contribute to a cross-functional team including UX researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers.
