Job summary

Meta is seeking a technical leader for the Data Engineering team to build out a scalable data platform that supports Instagram and other products. You will partner with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to drive data-driven decisions and product improvements.

Ideal candidates bring deep experience in data infrastructure, end-to-end analytics systems, and governance, with a track record of mentoring teams and delivering high-impact data solutions across large-scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years experience in data warehouse space.
• 10+ years experience in ETL design, implementation and maintenance.
• 10+ years experience with object-oriented programming languages.
• 10+ years experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling.
• 10+ years experience in authoring SQL statements.
• Experience analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies.
• Experience managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients.

Responsibilities

• Proactively drive the vision for data foundation and analytics to accelerate building and improvement of cross platform components.
• Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, evaluating design and cost-benefit tradeoffs.
• Create and contribute to frameworks that improve logging data efficacy and triage issues.
• Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Software Engineers to understand data needs.
• Define and manage SLA for all data sets in allocated areas.
• Determine and implement security model based on privacy requirements and governance processes.
• Design, build, and launch data models and visualizations for multiple products.
• Solve complex data integration problems using ETL patterns and diverse data sources.
• Own and optimize production data processes and pipelines.
