Job summary

McKinsey & Company is seeking a Senior Data Engineer within the Life Sciences AI team, integrated with QuantumBlack. You will design and deploy advanced analytics and agentic solutions for Pharma and MedTech, building scalable data pipelines and production‑ready systems.

You will lead data initiatives, mentor peers, and collaborate with diverse experts across North American offices. You will own the technical platform for analytics, work on end‑to‑end data processing, model prep, and cloud‑based

Qualifications

Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
5+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or related roles.
Proficiency in Python for production‑grade pipelines; strong SQL and PySpark skills.
Experience building end‑to‑end data pipelines and platforms for AI/BI.
Familiarity with Temporal, CI/CD for data workflows, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern data stores.
Strong foundation in system design, data storage, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Design, deliver, and deploy differentiated analytics solutions for Life Sciences clients.
Transform pilots into production systems that reshape end‑to‑end workflows.
Build scalable data pipelines and secure analytics platforms; mentor team members.
Lead technical workstreams; collaborate with agile teams and R&D projects.
Own the technical platform for advanced analytics and agentic applications.
Ensure data environments are secure; map data to hypotheses and prepare data for models.
