Gusto's Data Engineering team seeks a Senior Data Engineer who can translate loosely defined problems into durable data solutions. You will partner with analytics, product, and engineering to design, build, and deliver scalable data pipelines that drive business impact.

Required: 8–10+ years in data engineering, strong SQL, and at least one language (Python/Scala/Java); dbt experience; cloud platforms like Snowflake/Redshift/BigQuery/Databricks; CI/CD, testing, and observability.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of industry experience in data engineering building scalable data pipelines and data products.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java).
• Proven experience building and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL workflows, with hands-on dbt experience for reliable, testable, and maintainable data transformations.
