Job summary

Grainger is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate scalable data pipelines and data products. The role focuses on batch and real-time data processing, leveraging Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, and Kubernetes on cloud platforms.

You will translate requirements into robust data solutions, improve data quality, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to enable analytics, ML, and AI-enabled experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years' experience in data or software engineering.
• Experience building and operating production data pipelines (batch/streaming).
• Strong Python skills and experience with Spark or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of CDC, event-driven architectures, and orchestration patterns.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data products.
• Build data solutions to extract, transform, integrate, and deliver reliable data for analytics.
• Enhance data engineering capabilities for performance and scalability.
• Translate requirements into data designs and solutions.
• Improve data processes with automation and reliability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data-related challenges and deliver solutions.
• Provide guidance and establish engineering practices for teammates.
• Define reusable data engineering patterns for CDC and AI/search workloads.
• Shape architecture and roadmaps with cross-functional teams.
