Job summary

Gusto is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to take loosely defined problems and drive end-to-end data solutions. You will partner with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver durable data pipelines and intelligent experiences for customers.

Ideal candidates bring 8–10+ years in data engineering, strong SQL and Python/Scala/Java skills, dbt expertise, and hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of industry experience building scalable data pipelines and data products.
• Strong SQL and one programming language (Python, Scala or Java).
• Hands-on dbt experience for reliable data transformations.
• Experience ingesting data from APIs, databases, SaaS, and streams.
• Data modeling, schema design, and data quality best practices.
• Cloud platforms: Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks.
