Job summary

Fusion Worldwide is building a federated data platform for trading and procurement optimization on a production AI-driven stack. The role focuses on backend data engineering, API contracts, and reliable agent-driven workflows with strong emphasis on data lineage and governance.

You will work on RMS write-backs, data quality, and scalable data models while collaborating with AI tooling and platform teams for production readiness.

Qualifications

• Production data platform experience on platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, or dbt.
• 8+ years building software, weighted toward backend and data engineering.
• Expert SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL); reading execution plans and indexing.
• Experience writing back into a system of record with transactional integrity.
• API design for external UIs and applications.
• End-to-end delivery from idea through POC to release.
• Caching and performance engineering to optimize latency and throughput.
• Git, code review, and CI/CD practices.
• Data governance and security with audit requirements.
• Production LLM systems and agent-based production workflows.
• Day-to-day work with AI agents in production and handling failures.
• Building auditable systems with versioned parameters and explainable outputs.
• Clear written communication.

Responsibilities

• Design APIs for UIs in Web RMS and maintain contracts and versioning.
• Build custom applications and agent workflows based on the object model.
• Maintain the agent setup, including instructions, tool connections, and checks.
• Review agent outputs and fix issues in production environments.
• Tuning performance across query plans, indexing, materialization, and caching.
• Incident response for pipelines or write-backs in RMS.
• Ensure data lineage and governance across systems.
• Collaborate on data platform features used by trading floor applications.
