Job summary

Fuel Talent is partnering with an early-stage AI company to hire a Senior Software Engineer in Bellevue, WA. You will own parts of the data platform and work close to the database layer to solve complex data challenges and build systems powering customer-facing applications.

You'll join a small team with ownership over technical direction, contributing to data ingestion, processing, and AI-infused workflows while shaping architecture and best practices for scalable growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably with data-intensive apps or infra.
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience building data platforms components (query engines, data connectors, ingestion pipelines, or DB infra).
• Understanding of database performance, query optimization, and distributed data systems.
• Experience with modern backend development and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, or comparable tech.
• Exposure to frontend development and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with AI/ML tech, including LLMs or AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop infrastructure connecting applications to external data sources.
• Build scalable data ingestion, processing, and transformation systems.
• Develop and optimize query capabilities to support complex data operations.
• Work with structured and unstructured data across cloud environments.
• Contribute to backend services and customer-facing product functionality.
