Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain a next-generation data infrastructure supporting both human analysts and autonomous AI agents. You will collaborate across data scientists, engineers, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to push the boundaries of data assets.

You will champion data quality, lineage, and observability, while shaping the technical roadmap for data systems that enable Amazon's AI transformation journey at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and ETL pipelines.
• Experience with SQL and at least one modern programming language (Python/Java/Scala).
• Experience with data infrastructure serving AI systems and metadata.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data infrastructure for analysts, scientists and autonomous AI agents.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and observability with monitoring and lineage tracking.
• Work across teams to implement GenAI data patterns (chunking, embeddings, vector stores).
• Develop datasets and feature pipelines for ML/GenAI training, fine-tuning and inference (SageMaker, Bedrock).
• Lead data quality and observability for AI workloads at scale.
