Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to own significant portions of the team’s data architecture. You will build data models, construct scalable pipelines, and ensure high-quality, secure data delivery across AWS services.

You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across AWS to design data contracts, optimize ingestion, and deliver analytic models that enhance self-service data access and drive business insights at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve data quality issues in processing tools and pipelines.
• Build and optimize logical data models and data pipelines for difficult datasets.
• Make appropriate technical trade-offs at the dataset level for long-term sustainability.
• Produce high-quality, secure, and maintainable code.
• Contribute to data architecture decisions and optimize resources.
• Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies across sources.
• Mentor peers, participate in hiring, and promote knowledge-sharing.
• Drive data engineering best practices, including SLAs and self-service data access.
• Participate in on-call rotation and maintain operational health of data systems.
