Job summary

SpaceXSI is seeking a Lead Data Center Technician to oversee server and network infrastructure across data centers and global PoPs. You will drive MTTR/MTTD metrics, perform diagnostics, and ensure uptime and reliability.

The role requires onsite presence and readiness to respond to emergencies. Responsibilities include rack and stack, inventory management, fiber labeling, power/cooling installations, and coordinating with provisioning, engineering, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of experience with server, storage, compute and network hardware.
• 5+ years troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure.
• 5+ years inventory management, ordering, receiving and shipping server and network equipment.
• On-call availability and ability to work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs, comfortable at heights, and in noisy environments.

Responsibilities

• Report to the job site during initial construction and coordinate with engineering.
• Troubleshoot and monitor servers and network in data centers and global points of presence.
• Rack and stack data center network equipment.
• Maintain warehouse inventory using internal application.
• Label and troubleshoot fiber/optics cables.
• Power supply cabling, installation, troubleshooting and repair.
• Install racks, servers and switches; handoff to provisioning team.
• Manage data center tickets via Jira.
• Create and maintain documentation of tasks and SOPs.
• Receipt and decommissioning of data center hardware.
• Vendor returns for in/out of warranty.
• Manage spare parts inventory.
• Define, design, and implement network layouts within data centers.
