Job summary

SpaceXSI is seeking a Datacenter Operations Technician to ensure the health of server and network infrastructure across data centers and global points of presence. You will monitor, troubleshoot, rack, stack and manage inventories, label fiber, handle power/cooling cabling, and hand off hardware to provisioning teams.

You must be skilled in Linux, inventory management, and ticketing via Jira, with on-call readiness and the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed. On-site only.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with server, storage, compute and network hardware.
• 2+ years troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure.
• 2+ years in inventory management, ordering, receiving and shipping equipment.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Report to the job site during initial construction and coordinate with engineering.
• Troubleshoot and monitor servers and network in data centers and POPs.
• Rack and stack data center network equipment.
• Maintain warehouse inventory and asset management.
• Label and troubleshoot fiber and optics cables.
• Handle power cabling, installation, and repair.
• Install racks, servers and switches and handoff hardware to provisioning.
• Manage data center tickets via Jira and update documentation.
• Receipt and decommissioning of hardware; vendor returns.
• Manage spare parts inventory and design network layouts within data centers.
