Job summary

Peraton is seeking a senior data center systems engineer in Austin, TX to serve as escalation-level engineer for compute, storage, and systems services across our data center facilities. You will lead complex troubleshooting, conduct root-cause analysis, and drive remediation for high-impact incidents.

Qualifications

• Currently possess or be able to obtain a VA background investigation (High Risk).
• 4 years of data center systems engineering experience with senior troubleshooting capability.
• Supervisory experience.
• Shiftwork may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior/escalation-level engineer for compute, storage, and systems services across data center facilities.
• Lead complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and remediation for high-impact incidents.
• Design and execute maintenance windows, upgrades, and technology refresh activities.
• Mentor mid-level engineers; contribute runbooks, standards, and automation improvements.
• Coordinate vendor engagements for warranty, break/fix, and firmware/OS upgrades.
