Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering team. This role will drive the structural infrastructure strategy and support a rapidly expanding global data center footprint.

You will lead hands-on design, review, and implementation of data center structural systems, collaborate with CAD software and external consultants, and travel up to 25% to sites and design meetings.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 6+ years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Create, review and release data center structural engineering improvements and designs for next-gen data center design
• Provide feedback into Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for structural engineering systems
• Serve as a technical advisor for AWS DC design projects including foundation and structural systems review, seismic studies, and evaluation of design options
• Create, review and release architectural/civil/structural design RFPs
• Manage external architectural/civil/structural design consultants
• Coordinate with internal and external MEP/C/A design engineers
• Lead initiatives to improve cost, quality, schedule, and consistency
• Travel for site assessments, design meetings, construction review, and interface with AHJs and design consultants (anticipated travel up to 25%)
• Collaborate with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360)
