Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering team. This role supports AMER and select global projects, driving structural infrastructure strategy and continuous product innovation for our rapidly expanding data center footprint.

You will design resilient, cost-effective structural systems, communicate decisions to senior management, and mentor teams while maintaining world-class uptime for AWS customers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Create, review and release data center Structural Engineering improvements and designs for the next gen data center design.
• Provide feedback into Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for structural engineering systems.
• Serve as a technical advisor for AWS DC design projects including review of foundation and structural systems, seismic studies, and structural calculation assumptions.
• Create, review and release architectural/civil/structural design RFPs.
• Coordinate with internal and external MEP/C/A design engineers.
• Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.
