Job summary

CyrusOne seeks a Senior Manager, Real Estate Site Selection, Acquisition and Development to guide the location strategy and run end-to-end site selection processes for expanding our data center portfolio.

You will work with landowners, developers, utilities, and government officials to secure entitlements, negotiate contracts, and manage due diligence. Strong leadership, communication, and project-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in site selection, project management, and/or the development of data centers, real estate, or other large infrastructure or capital projects.
• 5+ years experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience managing relationships and representing business interests with governments, utilities, potential suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Comfort communicating commercial, market, and contractual details to management.
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
• Ability to work independently, think creatively, and deliver results with limited direction.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Salesforce is a plus.
• Travel required.

Responsibilities

• Lead land development efforts on new projects.
• Assess the entitlements process (rezonings, land use permitting, etc.), lead relationships with government officials and stakeholders.
• Define and pursue new site selection projects to meet data center growth needs.
• Build and lead teams of vendors and consultants to evaluate site feasibility.
• Develop site plans aligned with market conditions and business goals.
• Manage multiple complex contract negotiations.
• Oversee technical due diligence and translate findings into commercial actions.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Legal, Tax, and Construction to inform strategy.
• Maintain communications with landowners, utilities, government officials, vendors, and executives.
• Support development of repeatable processes for site selection and contracting.
