Job summary

Suffolk is seeking a dynamic Safety Professional to lead the administration, direction, and implementation of corporate safety and health policies for our Data Center Center of Excellence. You will collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, and Project Executives to drive safety compliance across projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction health and safety, OSHA Outreach Trainer certification, CHST, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Construction Health and Safety experience with knowledge of Federal/State regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Safety preferred.
• Certified OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer.
• Professional CHST certification.
• Demonstrated leadership with construction safety technologies and practices.
• Willingness to provide best in class customer service.
• Training as CPR Instructor (training provided).
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, communicate, enforce, and identify opportunities for improvements in corporate safety programs
• Mentor and supervise Safety Managers as required by Regional Safety Director
• Provide administrative expertise as related to project-specific safety document storage in OnTrac
• Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate subcontractors Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings with compliance on OSHA, NFPA, and JCAHO standards
• Review all Subcontractors Site Specific Safety Programs and JHA prior to mobilization
• Conduct site evaluations using Predictive Solutions and track corrections
• Attend and monitor Tool Box Talks for documentation and quality
• Perform root cause investigations into job site accidents with Risk Managers
• Coordinate with Regional Risk Manager to identify claims trends and pro-active risk planning
• Enforce training documentation for subcontractors and employees
• Conduct OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER and other safety trainings
