Job summary

Suffolk Construction seeks a Safety Manager to lead project safety programs. You will work with the Superintendent and Project Manager to enforce Corporate Safety and Health policies across multiple sites, inspecting sites, coordinating safety trainings, and ensuring compliance with NFPA and JCAHO standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in construction safety, OSHA trainer credentials, and a proactive, collaborative attitude.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of construction health and safety experience.
• Regulatory knowledge of federal and state safety laws.
• OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer certification.
• Willingness to achieve CHST within two years.
• CPR Instructor training provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong planning and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and record conditions.
• Manage project safety binder and document storage tasks.
• Coordinate subcontractor safety planning meetings.
• Monitor OSHA/state/local safety regulations for field operations.
• Review Subcontractors' Safety Programs before mobilization.
• Attend and monitor toolbox talks for documentation.
• Lead accident investigations with standard reporting.
• Coordinate with Regional Risk Manager on claims trends.
• Ensure proper training of subcontractor staff.
