Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist for our Mission Critical / Data Center teams. You will administer, direct, and implement safety policies on project sites, ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety goals.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related work experience in construction health and safety.
• Knowledge of Federal/State safety regulations and local building code issues.
• Willingness to achieve CHST designation within two years.
• CPR instructor training provided; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and document safety conditions.
• Administer project safety binder and document storage tasks.
• Coordinate pre-construction safety planning meetings with subs.
• Advise field operations on OSHA, NFPA, and JCAHO standards.
• Review subcontractor safety programs before mobilization.
• Attend and monitor toolbox talks for documentation quality.
• Investigate accidents and collect incident reports.
• Work with Regional Risk Manager on claims trends.
• Ensure training of subcontractor employees in scope of work.
• Deliver OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER, and related safety training.
