Job summary

Hut 8 seeks a Principal, Project Controls to own cost, schedule, and financial reporting for its large-scale construction program. You will lead estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting, acting as the bridge between field teams and corporate finance.

This high-visibility role demands independent judgment, transparent escalation, and the ability to challenge project managers, contractors, and vendors when forecasts don’t hold up. 25%+ travel to sites is required.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years in project controls, cost engineering, construction finance, or FP&A for large capital construction projects.
• Experience on projects of $500M+ total installed cost with delivery teams.
• Ability to challenge and influence project managers and vendors with data-driven analysis.
• Willingness to travel 25%+ to North America project sites.

Responsibilities

• Own project controls across capital projects ($100M+): budgets, tracking, forecasting, contingency, cash flow.
• Develop and test estimates at stages from concept to GMP and buyout; reconcile with actuals.
• Support FP&A, accounting, and ERP reconciliation for capital costs and funding draws.
• Prepare weekly status reports to executives and maintain KPI cadences.
