Job summary

Hut 8 in Miami is seeking a Principal, Project Controls to serve as the cost, schedule, and financial conscience of our construction program. You will own estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting across $100M+ capital projects, partnering with field teams and corporate finance.

This high-visibility role includes presenting weekly updates to the C-suite, challenging project managers when forecasts don’t align with reality, and traveling 25%+ to project sites across North America to

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, construction finance, or FP&A for large capital projects.
• Direct experience on $500M+ total installed cost projects embedded with delivery teams.
• Demonstrated ability to influence project managers and stakeholders with data-driven analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including executive reporting.
• Willingness to travel 25%+ to North American project sites.

Responsibilities

• Own project controls across assigned capital projects ($100M+): budgets, cost tracking, forecasting (EAC/ETC), change management, contingency management, and cash flow projections.
• Develop and pressure-test project estimates at each stage gate—from concept to GMP validation—and reconcile estimates against actuals.
• Monitor contractor schedules and cost reports; perform variance analysis and drive corrective action with the project team.
• Review pay applications, change orders, and invoices for accuracy and alignment to budget before approval.
• Prepare and present weekly status and cost reports to the C-suite; establish KPIs and reporting cadences across projects.
