Job summary

SB Energy, a SoftBank Group company, seeks a Permitting Senior Manager to lead building, civil, fire and life safety, and operational permitting for data center campuses. You will coordinate between Development, Real Estate, Legal, and environmental teams, ensuring timely approvals across jurisdictions.

You will manage complex schedules, stakeholder engagement, and consultant teams, with a focus on phased permit packages and compliance. Redwood City or remote work options supported.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of permitting, land development, design management, or construction delivery with complex projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and external consultants to completion.
• Ability to manage multiple permitting workstreams across buildings, parcels, phases, and jurisdictions.
• Strong knowledge of building, civil, fire and life safety, and operational permitting.

Responsibilities

• Lead building and civil permits for data centers and support facilities, including site development and utilities.
• Establish a consolidated permit matrix with jurisdiction, scope, prerequisites, and milestones.
• Integrate permitting with design and construction schedules and identify critical dependencies.
• Lead coordination meetings with clear agendas, owners, and due dates; track closure.
• Direct permitting consultants and coordinate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Manage readiness reviews, submission logistics, fees, and resubmittals.
• Lead fire and life safety permitting with design professionals and authorities.
• Maintain controlled records and ensure consistent information across teams.
