Job summary

SB Energy Corp. seeks an Environmental & Permitting Senior Manager to lead discretionary land use and environmental permitting for utility-scale energy generation, energy storage, and data center projects across the U.S.

Based in a hybrid role with locations including the Bay Area, San Diego, Denver, and Austin, you will manage permitting strategies, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and travel up to 30% to advance schedules and budgets while shaping sustainable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (environmental science, biology, land use planning, ecology, geography)
• 8-12+ years of professional experience in environmental permitting for energy projects in the U.S.
• Experience securing discretionary land use permits and authorizations (CUP, SUP, rezoning, etc.)
• Deep understanding of environmental laws and permitting processes (CWA, CAA, NEPA, ESA, MBTA, RCRA, EPCRA, CEQA, EFSEC, OPSB)

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee local, state, and federal permitting processes for energy projects
• Prepare and manage environmental surveys, impact reports, and land-use applications
• Develop permitting strategies and manage external consultants
• Collaborate with Development, Origination, Engineering, Transmission/Interconnection, and Capital Markets teams
• Support project financing activities and budget adherence
• Travel nationally up to 30%
